HER STORY
| A young Au Ra born and raised in Yanxia from ethnic Xaela parents whose ancestors emigrated away from their steppe homeland hundreds of years ago. Their descendants mingled around with the local society (Raen Au Ra, Hyur, Roegadyn and Lupin alike) and lived together in a tight-knit community of Qinglin (Seirin) Village–a small settlement in The Fanged Crescent mountain range, west of the capital of Doma. She was the youngest child of two, whereas her name was meant for a son as her parents wanted their second child to be male. Compared to her more meek and domestically-inclined brother, she was a constantly active child and much more physically active. Growing up, she was pressured by her parents to pursue traditionally feminine habits like weaving and pottery, but she has always been more inclined to both martial arts and scholarly pursuits. During her teenage years, she was taught by a Hyuran martial artist-scholar named Master Liu Guangming (Koumei). | After eighteen summers had passed, the girl decided to go on a voyage to the west through the help of an travelling merchant to cross The One River and passing through the Garlean colonial territory of Doma, where the winds carried her over to the lands of Eorzea. Whilst doing various odd jobs and quests as your friendly traveling adventurer, she was scouted by the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and enlisted within their cause to preserve the peace in Eorzea. Through various trials and tribulations, fate brought her to return to her homeland once more. Assisted by Yugiri Mistwalker the Doman shinobi, she joined the Doman Liberation Front and actively participated in the joint cause between the famed Warrior of Light, the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, Eorzeans, Domans and steppe tribes alike to liberate both Doma and Ala Mhigo from the cruel clutches of Garlean Empire. Nowadays, you’d find her participating in Doman restoration or busy developing her restaurant business in Eorzea. |
TRIVIA(S)
There are 3 ways to spell her name. Her native Yanxian (using Old Doman language equivalent to Mandarin) uses her full name, but most Domans (using real-life on’yomi reading) read it as Souyou. Hingans (using real life kun’yomi reading) read it as Aotaka. To Eorzeans, she’s known as Ying.
Her ancestral roots from Azim Steppe can be traced all the way to the bloodline of the nearly extinct Avagnar tribe (father side) as well as the diasporic Hotgo tribe (mother side).
Her family has a whole bird theme naming going on in Old Doman; her father is named Báilù/Hakuro/Shirasagi (白鷺, Ardea alba) mother is named Yúnquè/Unjaku/Hibari (雲雀, Alauda arvensis) and her older brother is named Hǎidiāo/Kaichou/Umiwashi (海雕, Haliaeetinae).
Due to her upbringing in a traditional Far Eastern culture, she has a tendency to speak in a more formal and polite manner to strangers, especially if they are her seniors in age. However, she’s more casual and outgoing in certain social situations.
While in Eorzea, her home base is located in Ul'dah, mostly because she likes the food. If needed, she can be seen around the scion's headquarters in Mor Dhona.
She still maintains a good relation with Najha Saab, a Hannish mercenary slash illegal travelling broker posing as a merchant. The twenty three-summers Keeper miqo'te was the one who smuggled her to go on a westward voyage to Eorzea by passing through the Garlean colonial territory of Doma and finally sailing from the ports of Kugane.
The ideal traits that she seeks in a person (as a potential partner) are their loyalty and fortitude.

I have 10++ years of roleplay experience and I'm 21+ years old. I will not interact with minors.
Basic rules of RP apply; no godmodding, powergaming, killing my character off without my permission, etc. etc.
My character is currently not available for romantic shipping or ERP (R18 roleplay) & I am not seeking for an IRL relationship.
I live in GMT +7 and due to irl commitments I can only go online after working hours or during the weekends.
